General Description
VtrEngine is a "C" object code module which can be included in a Macintosh or Windows '95+/NT application to provide a developer with a real-time method of controlling a professional, industrial, VISCA, and LANC-compatible serial Video Tape Recorder (or "VTR"). Suitable VTRs must conform to one of the following protocols:
Sony RS-422 (based on the UVW-1800 and DVW-A500; insert and assemble) Sony RS-232 (based on the SVO-2100 with SVBK-10 remote control option; insert and assemble) Sony RS-232 UVW (based on the UVW-1400; assemble only) Sony VISCA (based on the CVD-1000; assemble only) Addenda RS-4/L (a LANC interface adapter; assemble only) Panasonic RS-232 (based on the AJ-D230 with RS-232 option) Panasonic RS-422 (derivative of Sony RS-422, based on the AG-DS850; insert and assemble) JVC RS-232 (based on the SR-S365U; insert and assemble)
VtrEngine can be used in CodeWarrior (C, C++), PPC Project for the Macintosh, or Visual C, C++ Project for the PC. Just move the Object file and Header file into your project folder, link according to your compiler's directions, and you're ready to go.
The only hardware that is required is a suitable Computer-to-VTR cable.
